Weekly Gyan Yagya on Railway Stations
A team of 18 youth members spent their day at New Delhi railway station yesterday, Sunday, 5th Nov, 2006 to continue spreading the thoughts of Pujaya Gurudev. We went to every compartment of trains and passengers sitting on platforms with mission books in both our hands and offered our books to everyone. It was a great experience for many of the members. The members covered each train on every platform.
While starting our day with the Yagya yesterday morning before proceeding for our gyan yagya project, we were more encouraged when I received a call from respected Shari Kalicharan ji from Shantikunj. Kalichran ji assured for the blessings of Gurusatta for our gyan yagya project. All members reached at Delhi station at 12:00 noon. We then distributed the books to each member which were received from Shantikunj just on Saturday. After spending about six hours on station, we were able to sold books of three thousand. All members had our lunch also at station.
We met many members in trains who were aware about Shantikunj. Few of them had even taken Guru deeksha from shantikunj and such people were really really happy to see the group distributing books of Pujaya Gurudev on railway station. They encouraged and appreciated the efforts and also said that they will also start such activity in their cities. When I was selling books in a train compartment, one ofH the person said that, “Hamen nahi chahiyen. Ye saare kaam kamane ke liye kar rahe hain. Ab to aur bhi had ho gayi jab padhe likhe log bhi book sale karke kamane lage.” Before I could convey our message to him, one of the another passenger sitting in same compartment told that person, “Jiski books ye sale kar rahe hain wo is satabadi (sadi) ke sabse bade sant hue hain.” Hearing this, passengers sitting in that compartment picked books from my hand quickly. In an another incident, a person who was attached to RSS inquired Dr Gyaneshwar about the activity run by Gayatri pariwar and youth group at station. He discussed for more than ten minutes and became so emotional that couldn’t control his tears. He said that he will ask his son also to run such activities to spread the message of Indian culture.
A thirteen year boy in our group also sold books to many passengers. His duty was to take care about the heavy book bags. Rather than sitting idle, he picked some books in his hands and proceed to people sitting nearby. He even sold books to a police men also whose duty was to stop unauthorised sellers from station. Other than people who purchased books from us, more than fifteen thousand people at least heard these words (- ‘Gayatri Pariwar’, ‘Shantikunj Haridwar’, ‘Vichar Kranti Abhiyan’, ‘Gurudev Pt Shriram Sharma Acharya’) first time in their life. Anyone who purchased books from us, we invited them to visit our Gurudwara Shantikunj.
We will continue on this Gyan yagya on every weekend. It will be great if we can start such activity on other railway stations throughout India.
