September 2006

22nd September – Cancer Patients Aid Association + GPYGM

Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) is a registered charitable nongovernmental organisation (NGO) working towards the Total
Management of Cancer as a disease, which includes:

• Spreading awareness on the dangers inherent in accepted social
practices such as chewing of tobacco, early marriage, multiple
pregnancies, etc, which are responsible for approximately 70% of
cancers in India.

• Initiating steps for the early detection of cancer since treatment at this stage leads to a cure in a majority of cases.

• To provide complete assistance to cancer patients beyond that given by the medical profession, that is, taking a holistic approach, not attacking the malignancy in isolation.

Mrs. Neeta More of Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) witnessed one of our programs of DEEP YAGNA & PRAGAYA BHAJANS at Buyculla last month during Ganesh Chathurthi celebrations. She was inspired to conduct similar programs for cancer patients . With this holistic vision she approached GPYGM . Cancer the disease spells fear, trauma, expensive treatment, side effects, social rejection, toppled economics and family life… and so much more. GPYGM responded positively and decided to work
few programs with them for mental & emotional well being.

Two programs were finalized for month of September. On the eve of Navratri 22nd September Morning , Pragya Bhajans program were organized at SHANTIAVEDHANA Bandra (WEST) where
terminally ill cancer patient are admitted & in the Evening a program Pragya Bhajan ,Spiritual Discourse & few pranayam
techniques were organized at Bharat Sevashram It was a part of
Guruji’s vision of “PEEDA PATAN”

Two Teams were formed
• Nividita ben Rajyaguru & Aarti Ben Patil from Borivali conducted Bandra program
• Shri Krishna Rathore from BARC & Kundan Kumar from Vashi
conducted the Vashi Program . Hitesh Joshi from BARC coordinated during the event .

At Bandra there were two wards of around 20 patients. It was a team of GPYGM , Few members of Christian missionaries ,Gulshan
Moriwalla from Rotary Club who conducted the program .

GPYGM members Nividita Ben & Aarti Ben the duo in their melodious voices sung the Pragya Bhajans exceptionally well,
creating an atmosphere of love and belongingness for the patients.

Radiating hopes for well being of patients and encouraging the patients as they are alive with us silent prayers were observed in
each ward. Selected few Guruji’s Sahitya were distributed to all
.We had feedbacks from patients who expressed how much such programs meant to them . It provides a sense of hope. All of us them felt comfortable when GOD is part of their lives.Although walking the fine line between medicine and religion, Mrs. Nita Moore of Cancer Patients AID association wants patients to have
the opportunity to feel the healing presence of the GOD.

Nividita Ben & Aarti ben interacted with the cancer patients and spoke about the important role they play in the family. Wishing them the very best they also encouraged them to keep a positive attitude in life. At VASHI ( Bharat Sevashram Sangha ) the program was in the evening of one & half hrs duration . Around 200 persons including patients who came from different parts of India, their relatives & the Bharat Sevashram Members attended the program.

Kundan presented Pragya Bhajans & SriKrishna Rathodji spiritul
discourses .Both were touching & effective. Rathodji was electrifying and in his simple and lucid language was successful in
spreading the sparkles of illumination radiating the light and wisdom of Guruji . He explained importance of Gayatri Sadhana. He highlighted how yoga can bring about immune modulation in cancer patients during chemotherapy, radiation and surgery phases . He told that “Ek Myan me Ek Hi talwaar rah sakti hai. Aapka sharir ek myan hai jisme ya to Rog rah sakta hai ya Gayatri”.

A special guided meditation was taught by Rathodeji. He explained how meditation helps to reduce stress and improve immune functions. After meditation rathodji carried out chanting of Gayatri Mantra & instructed all patient to focus their attention towards the effected part of their body feeling the vibrations of Gayatri Mantra curing them.

Many of the patients were not familiar with Gayatri Mantra ,they noted down the Gayatri Mantra & its meaning . The Organizer
Mr.Manas of Bharat Sevashram thanked GPYGM from the bottom of his heart expressing his desire he informed that that the Head
of the Org. is in Canada these days and they will get in touch with
GPYGM for another program. Guruji ‘s subtle presence was felt by all.
