10th July., 2007 – 11th Gyan Deeksha Ceremony of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Shantikunj, Haridwar


Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya is the first University of the nation 11th Gyan Deeksha Ceremony of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Shantikunj, Haridwarwhere every new student has to participate in the five day Personality Upliftment Workshop (Vyaktitva Unmukhikaran Shivir). After that, in the Gyan Deeksha Ceremony (getting pledged to gain righteous knowledge), every student and teacher of the University takes a pledge to strive towards gaining righteous knowledge, and work for the progress of the nation. In the 11th Gyan Deeksha Ceremony of the University, Professor S. P. Singh, the Vice-Chancellor of Hemavati Nandan Bahuguna University, and Professor C. P. Varthaval, the Vice-Chancellor of Kumaon University also stressed the need to awaken the Youth. Also, both the Vice-Chancellors said that at the level of their Universities too they will inspire the Youth to work for the upliftment of the nation. Dr. S. P. Mishra, the Vice-Chancellor of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, also called upon the Youth of the nation to rise above their selfish tendencies.

The Chancellor, Dr. Pranav Pandya expressed his greets to the newcomers and stressed on character building process of the university besides formal and traditional education. This university is going to start its branches all over the nation for giving high moral and direction to dynamic youth of the nation, to put an example in front of other universities.

The students of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya gain intellectual and spiritual energy through their regular curriculum as well as the weekly Gitamrit (lectures on Bhagwad Gita) and Meditation (Dhyan) classes conducted by the Chancellor, Dr. Pranav Pandya.
