Pitru Paksh - Auspicious time of year to pay tributes to our ancesters - 15th Sep to 30th Sep

For the betterment of family and society and to get the blessing to be on the righteous path, “Pitrapuksha” a tradition of subservient rituals was established; to satisfy and to pay respect and devotion to the departed souls of Former men/ fathers and ancestors. In pitrapuksha, usually people follow the tradition of performing  Shraadh, Tarpan, and Havan followed by feeding Brahmins. In addition to this , we should encourage tree plantation and lifelong care to that tree,  in the memory of departed souls. Tree plantation is such a noble task, which gives everlasting peace to Pitra, and happiness and wealth to coming generations

During these Pitrapuksha, along with former man and ancestors,, we should also pay special attention to  indulge into the activities to satisfy living old and elderly family members. If elderly people are not around in the family , then we should try to satisfy and nurture any other with reach elderly persons. This task also has same effect as Shraadh Tarpan, or feeding Brahmin, and brings peace and happiness in the family and society.
