Youth Camps - 2007 (India)

Pune

Gayatri Pariwar Youth Group PUNE (GPYG–P) hosted a two day workshop “YUVA CHETANA SHIBIR” ( 8th-10th June 2007 ) at Ralegan Siddhi (near Ahmadnagar), the home of the famous social activist Shri Anna Hazare. This camp was conducted under the guidance of Revered Dr. Pranav Pandya (MD) (Head – All World Gayatri Pariwar & Chancellor – Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar) and a team of Shantikunj representatives. The camp was attended by around 200 Youth from the states of Maharashtra (Pune, Mumbai, Thane, Bhiwandi, Nagpur, Nasik, Aurangabad, etc.), Gujrat (Vadodara, Surat, etc.) and Karnataka (Bangalore), & various rural areas of Vidarbha. It was a harmonious blend of Youth from urban & rural areas. The camp was a grand success & the feedback received was excellent. Everybody felt that the camp was rejuvenating.

The camp started with a warm reception of Revered Dr. Pranav Pandya (Dr. Sahab) by all villagers gathered at Yadav Baba temple followed by tree plantation by Dr. Sahab. The first program on 8th afternoon was started by lighting of a lamp by Revered Dr. Sahab, followed by welcome by youth representatives from various areas. Next, representatives from each area appraised Shantikunj team about the activities carried by them throughout the year. In his very opening discourse “Rashtriya Kundalini & Yuva Shakti ka jagran”, Dr. Sahab appealed to the Youth to come together for National Integration & Development. He said that social upliftment is not possible without Youth participation. His electrifying speech spontaneously & dynamically awakened the consciousness of all the participants.

The second discourse by Respected Kalicharan ji provided guidelines to Youth to discover the purpose of life. He told the Youth that he was not talking about their job, their daily responsibilities, or even their long-term goals. He wanted the Youth to ponder over the real reason of life. Finally the day ended with question & answer session of participants with Dr. Sahab & Shantikunj representatives. Later in the evening, cultural programs were presented by various groups (Pragya songs, drama, poem, etc.).

Both the days (9th & 10th) the morning session started early with meditation. Revered Dr. Sahab told 10 different types of meditation that can be adopted by people in day to day life for inner peace and harmony. After meditation, a student from Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya (DSVV), Haridwar demonstrated Pragya Yoga & selected postures (asanas) for overall fitness of the body and mind.

On 9th, during his discourse on “Who should be Youth’s icon”, Revered Dr. Sahab unfolded the extreme importance of positive thoughts giving examples of Gurudev Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya, Bhagat Singh, Swami Vivekananda, Shri Arvind, etc. Debunking the notion that Indians cannot offer guidance & insights on management to the corporate world, Respected Sharad Pardi ji illustrated examples on the same. He expressed that Spirituality is not connected with any religious dogmas but spirituality is connected with our innate power, self respect, self esteem, developing the belief in self and enhancing our will power. Afternoon session saw participants expressing their views on “Youth Development Directions” by Pune, “Women in 21st Century” by Vadodara, “How to Connect Corporate World with Gurudev’s Ideologies” by Bangalore Group, followed by an in depth session on “Water Harvesting”.

Sankalp Deep Yagna was organized on 9th evening in the auspicious presence of Revered Dr. Sahab and Shri Anna Hazare ji. Dr. Sahab’s discourse on SAMAGRA KRANTI was electrifying. Dr. Sahab expressed that the contribution of Anna Hazare ji is one of the most effective examples of duty & dedication. Anna Hazare ji inspired the Youth with his simple lucid speech. He appealed the Youth to strive & uphold our ancient values. He gave many sutras on life-making, man-making and character-building. In a warm and cordial standing ovation Dr. Sahab graced Anna Hazare ji with a momento on behalf of All World Gayatri Pariwar for his outstanding contribution to mankind. Sadashiv Mahapari ji, the Sarpanchs of Ralegan Siddi & neighboring villages, were also present during the Deep Yagna. The day ended by a press meet wherein correspondents of both print & electronic media had an exclusive interview of Dr. Sahab.

The two days sessions enlightened the participants with knowledge & wisdom. They were filled with joy & happiness on meeting Dr. Sahab & Shantikunj team members. In the final day session Dr. Sahab proposed vision 2011 to Youth. He gave specific yearly programs to Youth to be implemented between 2007 and 2011. The detailed description of this road map will soon be available in Akhand Jyoti. Concluding the camp Dr. Sahab blessed the gathering by showering flowers on all the participants.
